Success Stories
Vidas Banys career at Garant group is really an inspiration. He started as a Safety Service Engineer in 2014. With strong aim for best results, huge passion and hard work soon he was promoted to a role of Service Manager which later followed by a new one of a Sales Manager for the Safety Division.
Recently, Vidas has accepted a challenging offer to lead a sales team of the completely different department. He was promoted to the position of Commercial Director for our Ship Maintenance & Repair Division.

Imagine: you receive an opportunity to establish, develop & lead a new division for a company you work for. Sounds incredible, right? But what if it’s 5 348,2 km away from your home? Would you still do it?
That did not stop ALEKSEJ KARŽICKIJ. In the summer of 2016, he and his colleague moved to the Canary Islands (Las Palmas, Spain) to open a new supply division – GARANT LAS PALMAS.
Of course, the mission was not easy, as Aleksej faced some challenges. Finding the right premises, recruiting the best personnel for an international company…Fortunately, all hard work paid off, and a team of just a few people expanded into 10 energetic professionals. Every day they are making a huge contribution to the company’s growth.
Another great addition to the company was Aleksej’s wife – Julija Karžickaja. With her 13 years of accounting experience, Julija helped to establish the accounting department, which she later headed.
In Spain, verbal face to face communication is vital to make things move forward. As of now, all current employees speak 6 languages, 4 of them are used for communication every day.
GARANT LAS PALMAS strive to build the best team dynamics, so occasionally they play paintball, go bowling or karting together. In the future, Aleksej plans to organise a sail to the neighbouring island. They intend to visit an Aquapark, which is considered one of the largest in Europe.
Life in the Canary Islands required quick adaptation to local peculiarities. Aleksej jokes that one unacceptable thing to do there is to give up dessert in a restaurant. Canarians have a big sweet tooth, so for them, it looks strange when you refuse dessert after a hearty dinner.
We are incredibly proud of Aleksej (and his team) for the work he has done with the GARANT LAS PALMAS division. His drive motivates us to face challenges and constantly seek improvement.
