BALTIC EXPLORER is off to her first project
Painting works are done, decorations are on her boards. Bright and refreshed the lady successfully arrives in Poland. The vessel is ready to join the Harmony Link project in our neighboring country.
Harmony Link is a planned submarine power cable between Lithuania and Poland in the Baltic Sea. The purpose of the cable is to finish the transition of Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) from BRELL electricity grid to European electricity grid.
A thorough inspection of the sea bottom is essential prior to cable laying operations. Collaborating with Bluestream Offshore B.V. we will accommodate one of their Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) onboard our vessel. Compact and nimble ROVs are indispensable in monitoring and manipulation tasks especially in difficult to reach, narrow places.
BALTIC EXPLORER and ROV will take an adventure investigating the morphology of the sea bottom. It is expected to take about 2 months. Fair winds to our partners and the crew!
